SCREENING THIS WEEK:
THE WORLD BEFORE YOUR FEET: You’ve come to know the ShowRoom Cinema for screening groundbreaking documentaries, and we continue that trend this week with the debut of THE WORLD BEFORE YOUR FEET. It’s the story of one man, Matt Green, and his journey to walk every street, trail, and sidewalk in New York City. There are over 8000 miles worth of roads in New York City; can Matt really make the whole trek? This is an extremely humanistic tale about one man’s journey to really get to know his city. Produced by Academy Award nominee Jesse Eisenberg, this is going to be a must-watch. “What Green ultimately does, as one interviewee describes it, is show us the ‘Heart, soul, and pulse’ of New York City.” Danielle Solzman, Solzy at the Movies. CAN YOU EVER FORGIVE ME?: Audiences can’t get enough of the crowd pleasing favorite, and so it stays with us for another week! Want to impress your friends with your movie knowledge in the upcoming Oscar season? Then don’t miss Melissa McCarthy’s transformative performance as Lee Israel. “Rather than embrace broad styles like ‘comedic’ or ‘dramatic,’ McCarthy taps into emotions that span both genres – specifically, desperation and isolation.” – Marshall Shaffer, SlashFilm. BORDER: Also held over is this Swedish romantic epic. Our audiences have been walking out of this one completely stunned. Many have said it’s unlike any film they’ve ever seen. Border is Sweden’s submission for the Best Foreign Language Film award at the 2019 Academy Awards. Don’t be fooled by this one’s strange exterior; even through layers of special effects makeup, renowned Swedish screen and stage actress Eva Melander makes this a must-see. “Like the title suggests, the film lives on the edge of several genres while exploring new territories within the realms of love, beauty, and morality…” – Marisa Mirabal, SlashFilm. FUTURE FILMS WE ARE ANTICIPATING: Movies listed as “Coming Soon” are films The ShowRoom Cinema would like to present and is actively trying to book. However, we don’t always know if or when we will be able to actually get them from distributors. We set showtimes on a week-by-week basis and will announce them as soon as we can confirm them. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
We look forward to bringing these films to THE SHOWROOM CINEMA and want you to know how much you support our theater by seeing them with us: WELCOME TO MARWEN; ON THE BASIS OF SEX; AT ETERNITY’S GATE; IF BEALE STREET COULD TALK; MARIA BY CALLAS; GREEN BOOK.
