A Women’s History Month Celebration

March is Women’s History Month – a time set aside by Presidential proclamation to commemorate and encourage the study, observance and celebration of the vital role of women in American history. In celebration of this national event, the ShowRoom Cinema is partnering with The Barrymore Film Center in Fort Lee to present the first REEL JERSEY GIRLS FILM FESTIVAL. The program will feature:

The silent short ALGIE THE MINER (1912), directed by the first female studio owner and director Alice Guy-Blache’.

The recent NJ-shot feature LEZ BOMB, written, directed and starring New Jersey native Jenna Laurenzo.

A post-film Q&A with Ms. Laurenzo who will be presented with the Fort Lee Film Commission/Barrymore Film Center 2019 Alice Guy-Blache’ award.

(a portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to support the Youth Film Production Classes of the Second Baptist Church Arts and Technology Summer Camp in Asbury Park.)
